Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri was an Indian actress who has gained fame for her role in Hum Aapke Hain Koun as well as Beta Saajan. The actress was initially famous for her 1980s role in Tezaab where she co-starred alongside the veteran actor Anil Koopor. Her next role was in Dil where she was on screen with Aamir. She was born into an Mumbai middle-class family and began dancing in her early years. At the age of 16 she started acting, and was a victim for a few years because most of her early films failed. In the end, she was one of the top actresses from Indian films. Following her marriage she had a career break before reentering the film industry. She was recently a key player in Gulaab Gang about Indian women. Dixit received fifteen Filmfare Awards nominations, of which, eight were awarded. Padma Shri is the fourth highest civilian honor in India. She is known for her social works as well.
